Day 1 Arrive Boston

Day 5 White Mountains

It’s a very scenic drive today, moving away from the coastline into the White Mountain region. The surroundings are exceptionally beautiful during fall season, with autumn colours drawing visitors from across the globe. Following lunch there’s a Raven Wildlife presentation, stops along Kancamagus Highway and at Old Man of the Mountain Collapse. The historic Mount Washington Hotel provides tonight’s accommodation and dinner, renowned as a turn of the century summer playhouse for the east’s wealthy residents as well as the location The Shining was penned.

Day 6 Essex

An optional tour of Mount Washington can be sampled this morning which includes a visit to the weather station in the Summit Observatory. Following lunch at Sunset Hill House take a visit to the infamous Ben & Jerry’s ice cream factory and perhaps enjoy a sample or two! Northern Vermont is home of the Green Mountains, so the drive to Essex affords amazing views too.

Day 7 Shelbourne

A day exploring Shelburne is today’s treat. Following a tour of Shelburne Farms and lunch at the Inn, you’ll sample delectable cheeses at the tasting centre and take a tour of the fascinating Shelburne Museum. Tonight, following a bonfire at the hotel, there’s a chef presentation and culinary dinner.

Day 8 Burlington & Lake Placid

Ever wondered where the Maple syrup on your pancakes originates? This morning you’ll see how it is collected and made at a Maple sugar farm. After lunch take to the water for a ferry crossing from Burlington in Vermont to Port Kent in New York State. A meandering drive take you down to Lake Placid where you’ll enjoy the next two nights.

Day 9 Lake Placid

Day 10 Saratoga Springs & Ludlow

We’ve allowed two additional days in Boston as there is so much to see and do. Shopping is fabulous with a choice of Copley Place or Prudential Malls and the delights of prestigious Newbury Street.
