Day 1: Arrive Ayers Rock
On arrival in Ayers Rock you will be transferred to your hotel. This evening enjoy a complimentary glass of sparkling wine as the sun sets over the western horizon at Uluru (Ayers Rock).
Day 2: Kata Tjuta (the Olgas)
You may wish to view sunrise at Uluru. Later travel to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) then continue on to the base of Waïpa Gorge. Take in a magnificent sunset at Kata Tjuta while enjoying a complimentary glass of sparkling wine.
Day 3: Kings Canyon
Travel to Kings Canyon. You can make the rocky climb with your Guide to the rim of Kings Canyon to be rewarded with magnificent views of Watarrka National Park. Or explore the boulder-strewn canyon floor, an easier walk.
Day 4: Alice Springs
We depart Kings Canyon for Alice Springs. On arrival we'll tour the sights of 'The Alice' including the School of the Air, the historic Telegraph Station and the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Day 5: Alice Springs
You have the day free to relax or explore Alice Springs. You may wish to join an optional 4WD Safari to Palm Valley or visit the Alice Springs Desert Park.
Day 6: Tennant Creek
Travelling north we arrive at Karlu Karlu (Devils Marbles). There is time to walk around these precariously balanced boulders. On arrival in Tennant Creek we join a local guide for a tour of the historic Battery Hill Precinct. We'll tour an underground mine and experience the life of an early miner.
Day 7: Mataranka Thermal Springs
Visit the historic Daly Waters Hotel before continuing on to Mataranka. You can visit the replica of the Elsey Homestead or take the beautiful palm lined walkway for a swim in the famous thermal springs. Travel on to Katherine.
Day 8: Katherine Gorge
This morning we cruise on Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park. Visit the Nitmiluk Visitor Centre then continue deep into Kakadu National Park.
Day 9: Kakadu National Park
Our first stop is at Nourlangie Rock where we view ancient Aboriginal rock art then continue to the Bowali Visitor Centre. Join an afternoon cruise on the famous Yellow Water Billabong. We visit Ubirr and view Aboriginal rock art dating back some 20,000 years.
Day 10: Darwin
We travel to Darwin and enjoy a sightseeing tour of this tropical city.
Day 11: Darwin - Cairns
You will be transferred to Darwin Airport for your flight to Cairns. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome drink with your Queensland Tour Director and travelling companions.
Day 12: Great Barrier Reef
Join Sunlover Cruises for a full day cruise to Moore Reef. Enjoy a reef presentation and view the coral and fish from a glass-bottom boat. There is also the opportunity to go snorkelling and view this natural living wonder up close (equipment provided).
Day 13: Cairns
Enjoy a day at leisure in Cairns. Perhaps take an optional tour to the rainforest village of Kuranda. Or visit the famous Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park.
Day 14: Cairns - Townsville
Climb to the Atherton Tablelands. Enjoy a guided cruise on Lake Barrine. View the Curtain Fig Tree and Millaa Millaa Falls before our journey to Townsville.
Day 15: Daydream Island
Enjoy breakfast with the animals and a guided tour at Billabong Sanctuary. Continue south to Airlie Beach where we'll take a ferry to Daydream Island, in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.
Day 16: Daydream Island
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore Daydream Island, one of over 70 islands which make up the Whitsundays.
Day 17: Rockhampton
We take a ferry back to Airlie Beach. Travel south through Mackay, the sugar capital, to Rockhampton for the evening.
Day 18: Rockhampton - Hervey Bay
Cross the Tropic of Capricorn and stop at Langmorn Station, a fully operational cattle station. Enjoy morning tea at the homestead, a restored 'Queenslander' built in 1873. Continue south to Hervey Bay. Just offshore lies remarkable Fraser Island waiting to be explored.
Day 19: Fraser Island
Cruise to World Heritage listed Fraser Island, the longest sand island in the world. Board a 4WD and traverse the sand dunes. Tour 75 Mile Beach, see Lake Mackenzie, a beautiful freshwater lake, then stop at Eli Creek.
Day 20: Hervey Bay - Gold Coast
We travel to Brisbane and enjoy an orientation tour of the city and opal demonstration, before continuing to the vibrant Gold Coast.
Day 21: Gold Coast - Coffs Harbour
This morning we follow the lush Tweed River Valley to Cape Byron Lighthouse for superb views from Australia's eastern-most point. We stop at colourful Byron Bay at lunchtime, then continue along the Pacific Highway to picturesque Coffs Harbour.
Day 22: Depart Sydney
Stop at the town of Port Macquarie. Continue along the scenic coastal route crossing the Hawkesbury River into Sydney. You will be transferred to Sydney Airport for your onward flight.
